The Evening Telegraph Youth Awards 2008

I recently had the pleasure of attending The Evening Telegraph Youth Awards at The Apex Hotel in Dundee. I was amazed at the achievements of some of Dundee’s young people and felt the night re-affirmed that young people can make worthwhile contributions to their communities and should be viewed more as valued members of society.

The winner of the “Inspiration to Others” award, Suzzane McCusker (a young person who attends our project) said-

“I had such a great time. When I think about the way things used to be for me I could never have imagined being part of a night like that. I’m proud of the changes I’ve made and I’m glad that I and other young people in Dundee have been recognised for the positive things we’ve done”

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Irving Miskell- Reid of Freedom Hairdressing/ Friends of Fairbridge for his sponsorship of the “Inspiration to Others” award. Without the support and generosity of local organisations such as this the event certainly would not have been the success it was.
